I have lived in Fort McMurray for 28 years and always had an interest in the construction industry. While my background was more project management focused, I figured that it would well suit my passion for building. Ten years ago I hired a carpenter, did a market test for 8 months and the rest is history. Now we are a thriving home builder in Canada's hottest marketplace.
As well as home building, we are Fort McMurray's leading insurance related rebuild company. We repair homes for the insurance industry that have been damaged through water loss, sewer backup, fire loss and related damages. We currently handle about 70% of all insurance clamis in the region.
Our main challlenge in Fort McMurray is finding and retaining "skilled" employees. There is way more work than people to do it here and workforce is always an issue. Housing prices are high and people generally can't afford to just "come here" and get going.
